		AEYC houses the Southeast Alaska office for thread, Alaska’s Resource and Referral Network. All training provided by thread is recognized as formal clock hours required by the Council for Professional Recognition for the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. thread training is accepted by Child Care Licensing for annual training requirements and for placement on the System for Early Care and Education (SEED) Framework. Training may be accessed through distance delivery, onsite (at child care centers only and by request) or at our Channel Drive offices. Search by region rather than city. All training provided by thread also embeds Alaska Early Learning Guidelines and Strengthening Families Protective Factors. We strive to offer a variety of training options and encourage participants to sample a variety of training methods. Some of us learn best in a group, so that we can verbally process new information. Others are more self directed and learn best by reading and reflecting. Whichever mode of training you decide to take, we applaud and thank you for taking the time to stretch your knowledge and build your skills through professional development. 		Self Study Options E-Learning Choose from three available modules One module is worth 20 clock hours of training Cost per module is $85.00 Up to three months to complete each module Join a cohort at any time Sign Up NOW at abcdalaska.org

		A Place of Our Own Your regional CCR&R (Child Care Resource and Referral agency) has a self study module which helps you to go deeper in your reflection and understanding of each Active Learning workshop. They are available to you at a nominal cost of $10.00 for each module. You may request one or all nine modules. Complete the registration/payment form and send to your regional CCR&R along with your payment. Please do not send cash. Upon receipt of your registration/payment, your CCR&R will mail the requested selections. Take your time completing one or all of the modules. We will follow up with you on a monthly basis, but feel free to call anytime with questions regarding your self study. Once you have completed one module, send it in. Upon review, one of our training staff will record your training hours in our database and send you an updated training transcript. 		Engaging with Parents Self Study This self study combines reading, reflection, and programming ideas to help bring you into partnership with the parents of the children in your program. The seft study consists of 7 modules worth 3 hours each for a total of 21 training hours. Call AEYC to order a self study. The cost for the whole self study is $75.00.


		First Aid Classes Red Cross Offering First Aid classes in Ketchikan, Craig, Wrangell, and Juneau. To sign up for American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Training, please call the Juneau office at 907-463-5713. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required.
