Donate to the SEAAEYC Diaper Bank
SEAAEYC’s Diaper Bank is looking for community support through donations big and small to stock Diapers! Did you know that diapers are the number one requested item for new families? And the cost is not supported by insurance, Medicaid, or the SNAP program? Without a supply of diapers, children are not allowed to attend childcare. In Juneau, SEAAEYC supplies FREE diapers to organizations that work with parents and families to distribute to anyone in need. Currently we give out over 3000 diapers each month! We need help to keep this program going. Please consider donating any amount. 100% of your donation goes to the cost of purchasing diapers to stock our Diaper Bank.
$5 = 20 diapers
$25 = 100 diapers
$50 = 200 diapers
$850 = funds our entire Diaper Bank for one month!

Seeking Letters of Interest
Have you thought about opening a child care program? THIS could be YOUR opportunity!
|
This Request for Letters of Interest (LOI) is intended to identify individuals or entities interested in creating licensed child care spots in Juneau. The Juneau Child Care Expansion and Start-up Program intends to offer up to three financial awards in 2023. The total amount of funding available for this program is approximately $120,000. Awards will be provided to individuals and/or entities committed to starting or expanding a licensed child care program in Juneau. SEAAEYC is releasing this LOI to gauge interest within the community for this funding, and to provide equitable access to the grant funds. An additional application process for funding may be required depending on the total number of LOI’s received.
Letters can be submitted via email to bshibler@aeyc-sea.org . If you have any questions regarding your submission, please email or call Blue Shibler. |
Big News! SEAAEYC is developing a nonprofit family center
SEAAEYC was recently awarded $5M from Senator Lisa Murkowski to build a
multi-agency nonprofit family center. This project is a long-held vision of SEAAAEYC and the Juneau Partnerships for Families and Children, a group of nonprofit and state agencies whose programs support families. The center
is being developed to meet the needs of families in the community, with an emphasis on resources for children ages 0-8.
SEAAEYC and the Juneau Partnerships for Families and Children have collaborated around family supports for over 26 years, but services are spread across the community and sometimes hard for families to navigate. The partners offer a variety of programs including parenting classes, developmental screenings, kindergarten readiness strategies, early literacy opportunities, family fun nights, mental health consultations, and community networking opportunities. We are excited to bring all of these resources together under one roof to better serve Juneau’s families.
The space is envisioned to include; offices, a child care facility, lending library, commercial kitchen and dining hall, meeting spaces for events and trainings, children’s art studio, community gardens, an indoor playground, and a children’s museum. Click here to take a look at the concept drawings of the Family Center.
As we move forward with this project, we will be reaching out to community members to learn about what offerings they would like to see included in the building. If you are interested in supporting this project, stay tuned for details about our capital campaign.
