Early Education: Careers That Count!

Are you considering getting in to the field of Early Education? Southeast Alaska AEYC has lots of Information about career opportunities in early childhood education,  information about starting your own family child care business, and can support your professional development as a child care provider. For current professionals who want training credit, the training opportunities in Alaska are abundant! Check out available workshops, annual conferences, and self-study programs. Southeast Alaska AEYC is here for you in a number of ways:
  • Information about special grants, incentives, and training reimbursement programs to promote quality care.
    • Are you a provider in Juneau and have a CDA or at least 12 college credits in early childhood? Then you may qualify for a HEARTS award! Thanks to the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ), for funding the HEARTS Initiative. The goal of HEARTS is to improve the quality and availability of child care in Juneau by offering supports to licensed child care providers. Take a look at the HEARTS brochure or contact Southeast Alaska  AEYC for more information.
  • Warm line for information and resources to assist you in your valuable and challenging work
    with young children.
  • Professional development training and workshops to build your skills.
  • On-site technical assistance to help fine tune your program.
  • Year-round advocacy opportunities to promote worthy wages and quality care.

Childcare Apprenticeship Program

New Opportunity! Get paid to earn a degree!
Collaborate with a mentor for on-the job training and a paid start to becoming an Early Childhood Teacher or Administrator! Receive full tuition up to 18 credits for the Occupational Endorsement in Infant and Toddler Development. Be part of the national movement by starting an early learning and childcare career today!
