Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEERING AT Southeast Alaska AEYC:
Southeast Alaska AEYC is your link to the region's Early Childhood Programs! Our non-profit organization sponsors an annual symposium, trainings, advocacy, and public education regarding children's issues.
Southeast Alaska AEYC houses the Parents As Teachers program, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and supports early education professionals in their work.

We can provide numerous types of volunteer opportunities depending on your interests.
Here are some ways YOU can help:
  • Help enroll children in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
  • Raise your voice with us, be a part of our advocacy group and help us spread the word about the importance of Early Childhood Education.
  • Help us prepare for our annual Southeast Alaska AEYC Conference held each year in March.
  • Special projects happen throughout the year. If you're interested in lending a hand, let us know!

VOLUNTEERING AT CHILD CARE CENTERS:
If you are looking for volunteer time working directly with young children we can connect you with a Child Care Center in town! Please contact our office to find out which centers have opportunities available. The following information will help you in your volunteer efforts.
  • Please have at least 1 (preferably 2) references available for the Center Director. These references should include someone knowledgeable about your interactions with children.
  • Regulations state that a volunteer may help a center for up to (but no more than) 8 hours a month per center.
  • You may consider volunteering at several different centers to gain more volunteer hours.

Call to sign up for a volunteer opportunity that fits you! 907-789-1235.
